Initial assessment

Are you a vehicle or vehicle part manufacturer and do you have a high production volume? Would you like to become an approval holder for these vehicles or vehicle parts?

You might be interested in having these vehicles approved via a national type approval for small series vehicles, an EU type approval for small series vehicles, or an unrestricted type approval.

GTÜ mbH is a category C technical service appointed by the Federal Motor Transport Authority, which is responsible for the certification of quality management systems as part of the type approval procedure. Manufacturers of vehicles in unlimited numbers have the option of having them approved via a type approval. For this purpose, a quality management system that meets the requirements of the Federal Motor Transport Authority must be proven. This procedure is called the “initial assessment” and can be carried out by GTÜ Certification GmbH as a category C technical service.

Certification of approval-relevant requirements

In February 2013, in cooperation with the GTÜ certification body, GTÜ became a designated Category C Technical Service. This means that we can also carry out the audit of your quality management systems that is required for approvals.

Verification procedure

Are you a manufacturer of vehicle parts and only want to have parts certificates issued for them?

The validity and the issuing of a parts certificate require the manufacturer to prove these parts are subject to a quality assurance system in the production department. The quality assurance system is verified by an on-site visit.

This procedure is called “verification” and can be carried out by GTÜ Certification GmbH as a Category C technical service.
