EU type approval for components
Certificate of conformity of EU type approval
Are you a manufacturer of components, systems or separate technical units and do you require international type approval in line with Regulation (EU) 2018/858?
As a designated technical service, we draw up the approvals you need for the registration of your product. We handle the necessary tests and communicate with the authorities throughout the approval process.
ECE approval
As a manufacturer, do you need the following, for example
- mechanical coupling devices for vehicle combinations,
- rear underrun protection plank,
- replacement silencer systems,
- rear view mirrors of motorcycles,
- the retrofitting of wheels
- etc.

Parts certificate
Are you a tuner or a manufacturer of vehicle parts such as
- lowerings,
- sports exhaust systems,
- spoilers, air deflectors and body kits,
- performance enhancements for engines,
- brake systems,
- etc.?
GTÜ prepares parts certificates and works together with accredited testing laboratories and universities. This lets us carry out parts tests in your immediate vicinity throughout Germany.
The parts certificate is a special variant of the test certificates. It is always linked with the obligation to carry out a modification inspection without delay. Only after the modification inspection has been carried out is the compliance of the vehicle with the regulations for the installation or fitting of the parts determined. This can be determined by our authorised signatories.
Vehicle parts manufacturers must provide proof of an appropriate quality management system. This can be done through a verification or an ISO 9001 certification with proof of the approval-relevant requirements. We would be happy to support you in this through our certification body: GTÜ Certification GmbH.
General type approval for vehicle parts
As a manufacturer of, for example,
