AGS

Today’s AGS was founded in 1980 as AGS-DAT ”Arbeitsgemeinschaft der DAT-Vertragspartner e. V.”. Since 2001, it has represented the interests of its roughly 460 members under the name AGS (Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Kfz-Sachverständigen e. V. – Working Group of Motor Vehicle Experts).

The purpose of the association is to organise the exchange of experience among its members and to represent their interests in politics, business and the public. Originally, AGS members were only active in the private sector areas of motor vehicle appraisal and damage assessment.

With GTÜ, AGS members have also succeeded in becoming active in the official sector. Inspection activities in accordance with Annex VIIIb StVZO (German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations) have been greatly expanded in recent years.

BVS-Kfz-Sachverständigen-Verein e. V.

The BVS-KSV was founded in 1989. It represents the interests of its members with regard to the organisation of vehicle inspections for freelance and full-time motor vehicle experts. It also performs trustee tasks for the Bundesverband öffentlich bestellter und vereidigter sowie qualifizierter Sachverständiger (BVS) e. V. (Federal Association of Publicly Appointed and Sworn as Well as Qualified Experts). The BVS has set itself the goal of representing the profession of publicly appointed and sworn or comparably qualified experts in public and of safeguarding its interests.

The members of the BVS-Kraftfahrzeugsachverständigen-Verein are experts in the fields of motor vehicle damage and assessment as well as in road traffic accidents and accident reconstruction.

The specialist area of motor vehicle damage and valuations embraces, among other things, the determination of damage to vehicles after an accident or breakdown as well as the determination of repair costs, loss of use and depreciation.

In addition, the valuers are proven experts when it comes to assessing vehicle values – whether it’s a matter of replacement value, dealer purchase value or the residual value of vehicles and regardless of whether it is a car, truck, special vehicle or two-wheeler, vintage car or modern classic. They also assess vehicle defects after purchase or sale and determine causes for unit damage such as damage to the engine or transmission.

BVSK

The BVSK e.V. (Bundesverband der freiberuflichen und unabhängigen Sachverständigen für das Kraftfahrzeugwesen – Federal Association of Freelance and Independent Motor Vehicle Experts) is the largest association of freelance motor vehicle experts in Germany with roughly 800 members.

The purpose of the association is to represent the professional, economic and social interests of its members.

The primary objective of the BVSK is the legal enforcement and establishment of the professional profile for motor vehicle experts as developed by the association. This makes the exercising of the profession dependent on the fulfilment of certain minimum criteria (engineering degree/master craftswoman or master craftsman). If a motor vehicle expert is affiliated to the BVSK, then consumers, insurance companies and lawyers can be certain that the expert in question has fulfilled the association’s guidelines and satisfied the theoretical and practical prerequisites for practising the profession of expert.

Moreover, the BVSK offers motor vehicle experts, lawyers, insurers and repair companies comprehensive information on all aspects of vehicles.
